The Boston Foundation for Architecture (BFA) was created by the BSA in 1984 to support public education programs related to the built environment. Over the years, the BFA has funded and supported curriculum-development projects, teacher training, community-based programs, exhibitions and tours, in-school educational programs, research projects, conferences, lectures and symposiums.
Grant recipients
The BFA has distributed more than $800,000 in grants to numerous community groups, educators, schools and other organizations and individuals committed to enhancing public awareness of the built environment.

Grant proposals
The BFA publishes annual application guidelines in the spring; grant announcements are made at the end of the calendar year.
New trustees named to BFA board
Three industry and civic leaders have been named to the board of trustees: Kevin Benjamin of Stull and Lee, Cuong Hoang of Philanthropic Advisors and architect/lawyer Stephanie Wingfield.
