Women in Design and the Women Principals Network collaborate on June 6 at 6:00 pm at BSA Space (290 Congress Street, Boston) to focus on emerging leaders in the profession and their quest for career advancement. A panel of women principals and senior leaders will field questions related to rising through the ranks to achieve senior level positions. Among the topics of discussion will be the benefits of being a leader, challenges faced in achieving leadership positions, lessons learned along the way, and what it takes to become a leader.

Since its founding in 2008, Design Biennial Boston has curated a space for recognition and discussion of Boston’s emerging design practices. Published in 2013 by pinkcomma books, Archive presents an index of this design scene. A catalog of 57 projects by 19 Biennial winners maps the overlapping interests of the city’s most innovative practices over the past decade plus. The quality and range of exploration documented here attest to the potential of critical, experimental design in making Boston a home not just for speculation but for action.
