Placetailor is a employee owned cooperative company that custom fits urban environments - and dwellings in particular. We are looking for a new placetailor to help us help our clients live happily-ever-after in their new homes.

PLACETAILOR / JOB

3-day weekends. When we’re not busy living our other lives, we work four days a week.

Design. The future of the urban environment is in our hands and heads, it is our job as designers to get it down on paper, napkins, or the side of a 2x4. Every placetailor is integral to the design process, and will be included from day one.

Build. Buildings on paper are fine, but buildings in reality are better. Placetailor builds what we design. The design and build teams are one and the same, so be ready to swing a hammer.

Manage. A company of mangers means we are all managing each other. As a cooperative company we rely on each other to make sure everything gets done as best as possable.

Share. Profits, in the form of quarterly bonuses, are shared if/when we’ve earned them. A
base monthly gross salary of $2,100 is raised to $2,560 after 3-month orientation period, and to $2,880 after 9 months.

Own. The opportunity to co-own the company is offered after two years of employment.

At least 1-4 years experience in architectural design AND the physical act of construction;
excellent written, verbal, and graphic communication skills; the ability to work in an intensely collaborative and hands-on workplace.
