Hanbury Evans Wright Vlattas (www.hewv.com) has a very solid higher education practice, and is located in Norfolk, Va. The firm is lead by several exceptional experts and is busy and growing.

At the moment we're looking for a senior designer with strong design instincts and between 10-20 years experience. We’re looking for someone who can lead the design of projects, lead with clients and mentor a strong group of younger, internationally diverse designers. The firm offers a unique learning environment where research is encouraged without regard to whether it applies to a current or future project. This kind and level of investment is rarely seen in architectural practices. The firms focus trends towards student life facilities (housing/unions/dinning) and performing arts centers.

We’re looking for a person with strong design instincts, a passion for creating exceptional spaces and the motivation to grow themselves and others. We see this person as comfortable exploring, playing, twisting, and occasionally muscling things to come up with great design delivered well and on time. Still, this person will be the design lead, so someone fiscally aware and responsible is important, too.

Hanbury Evans is a national practice, one that holds up very well against the biggest and the best in the country. We’d like to find someone who wants to contribute to that, and even to become a future leader of what’s next. That means this is an opportunity to grow into a leader within the firm, and growing a national professional persona.

Let's look at your portfolio, talk about what gets you excited and how we can help you apply what you love doing to what our clients and firm needs.
