Matthew Kiefer is a principal in the Boston-based law firm of Goulston & Storrs, where he practices real estate development and land use law, with a particular focus on obtaining site control and public approvals for complex urban projects. These include market-oriented and affordable housing, commercial and mixed-use developments, and facilities and master plans for educational, cultural and health-care institutions. He teaches in the Urban Planning Program at the Harvard Graduate School of Design and has written articles on land use law and policy for Harvard Design Magazine, Architecture Boston, Boston College Environmental Affairs Law Review, Next American City, Urban Land, and other publications. He is the President of Historic Boston, a historic preservation revolving fund, and serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Municipal Research Bureau and the Emerald Necklace Conservancy. |
