Paul Michael Pelken joined the Syracuse faculty in fall 2007. He is a registered architect in Germany and the UK. Before his studies he completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter with distinction, was an affiliate student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Dusseldorf and studied Industrial Design at the Technical University Milan, and completed his studies at The Bartlett under the direction of Prof. Peter Cook. During his studies and after graduation, he practiced in several offices in Germany, Italy, and the UK and USA in the areas of product, interior and Architectural design. His own designs gained recognition in several design competitions, where he equally enjoys working on a variety of scales. His work has been widely published and exhibited.
