Hubert Murray was educated in the United Kingdom and has worked in the United States, Britain, the Middle East and Africa on educational, residential and commercial buildings and urban projects. Mr. Murray was Chief Architect for Boston’s Central Artery Project from 1989-92 and went on to direct planning and design of transit projects in Boston and Puerto Rico. Having established his own practice in 1997 Mr. Murray has successfully completed urban planning and revitalization projects, university campus planning (in the U.S. and overseas), schools programming, residential development and park design. Recent work includes a low-energy housing development in Boston and a master plan for a recreational trail in Brockton, MA. Co-chair of the Boston Society of Architects / MIT conference series Mass Impact – Cities and Climate Change, he has become increasingly interested in the complex challenges of designing and retrofitting cities for a sustainable future. He is on the Board of Overseers at the BAC and was President of the Boston Society of Architects for 2007. |
