Adèle Naudé Santos, FAIA, is an architect and urban designer. She is currently Dean of the School of Architecture and Planning at MIT, as well as principal architect in the San Francisco-based firm, Santos Prescott and Associates. Her academic career includes professorships within the graduate programs of UC Berkeley, Harvard, Rice University, and the University of Pennsylvania, where she also served as Chairman of the Department of Architecture. She was also the founding Dean of the new School of Architecture at the University of California, San Diego, and has had numerous visiting appointments throughout the United States and the world, including Italy and in her native South Africa.
