A ‘City’ was created by adults in celebration of KidsBuild!’s 25th anniversary. At an evening filled with conviviality, refreshments, and hands-on design, adults channeled their inner child as they imagined Boston in the next 25 years. Projects include an automatic fishing wharf, a sustainable modular co-housing community, and a mixed-use building with a post office, apartments, and a candy store, with a terrace for views to the city.
KidsBuild! (the kids’ version) will be held on Saturday and Sunday April 8th and 9th. Go to Kidsbuild! to learn more.
The celebration of KidsBuild!’s 25th anniversary is part of an even larger year of landmarks. This year, 2017, marks the 150th anniversary of the Boston Society of Architects/AIA (BSA), the 20th year for ArchitectureBoston magazine, and the fifth year of the BSA’s design gallery BSA Space. To celebrate these milestones, the BSA is hosting a year of events, posting weekly letters from design leaders, and is showcasing a free exhibition at BSA Space focusing on the BSA's achievements over the last 150 years. For full details on this monumental year, visit Reflections on the BSA.
