On October 4, more than 200 high school students and their families met with representatives from 50 architecture and design schools at the Wentworth Institute of Technology for the BSA’s annual Architecture/Design College Fair. Families heard talks by Lee Waldrep, PhD, an instructor and administrator of Undergraduate Student Services at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champlain, and from Timothy Stenson, an associate professor and undergraduate chair at Syracuse University. Speaking about the depth and breadth of architectural education, Waldrep asserted that “it’s the best education you can get.” Stenson provided tips on how to craft a portfolio for architecture school and emphasized that admissions committees look at drawings not to evaluate artistic skill but as evidence of a way of thinking.
