The debate over whether to legalize casinos in Massachusetts was only the first step. Now, we must decide how many and what kind of casinos to license and where to put them—a process that will be contentious and could significantly change the character of many local communities. The Boston Globe hosts MassVegas, a Building a Better Commonwealth forum, on Thursday, April 26, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Seaport World Trade Center (200 Seaport Boulevard, Boston). Panelists include Michael Davis FAIA, LEED (2013 BSA president-elect and vice-president of Bergmeyer Associates); Richard McGowan (author and adjunct associate professor at Boston College); John F. Ribeiro (founding member of Neighbors of Suffolk Downs); and Karen Spilka (Massachusetts senator). The Globe’s deputy editorial page editor, Dante Ramos, will moderate.
Registration begins at 5:30 pm; learn more and register online.
