This informal network of Cape and Islands architects and allied professionals gathers regularly for evening workshops on a range of design, practice, marketing and other issues of significance to those living and practicing on Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket. The workshops generally are held in January—May, September and October on the third Thursday of the month beginning at 6:00 pm.
The workshop series is an opportunity to earn AIA Learning Units and Massachusetts continuing-education credits while staying up-to-date on industry issues.

Upcoming 2009 workshops
Icynene Insulation System
Thursday, September 17, 6:00 pm
Complete Homes Concepts classroom
1520 Route 132 (Iyanough Road), Hyannis
This workshop introduces the changes in thinking in building science which are leading us away from a reliance on R-value-based insulation to advances in air sealing which controls the leakage of air and moisture vapor into the building envelope. New soft-foam insulation is now being used in retrofit and new buildings to solve mold and moisture-condensation problems. At the same time, downsizing of HVAC equipment and energy savings of up to 50% have been reported.
Presenter: Paul Sullivan
