Mass Timber Accelerator Kicks Off With Launch Event
The first in-person event in over 18 months at BSA Space served as a moment to celebrate our achievements around carbon reduction and to recognize the urgency of the work ahead. With the Think Wood Mobile Tour as a backdrop, speakers brought home the importance of a mass timber accelerator in the current moment.
Equity, Environment + the City
When participatory design and community experiences are rarely a sustained part of planning, how can we pivot the focus to equity and sustainability for the built environment? Growing an inclusive and climate resilient Boston means moving beyond checking a box of requirements.
Be a part of this shift at Intersections: Equity, Environment + the City, a multi-day hybrid symposium from November 6–13. Hosted by BSA Women in Design and BosNOMA, this symposium features virtual and in-person sessions, site tours, and Award of Excellence recipients who exemplify careers grounded in intersectional and participatory design processes.
Getting to net zero
The City of Boston, The Boston Planning & Development Agency, and Boston Society for Architecture have launched the Boston Mass Timber Accelerator for local building industry professionals to broaden awareness, identify new opportunities, and accelerate the use of mass timber in Boston and the New England region. The Accelerator will provide technical support and award $25,000 grants for up to 10 active development projects in Boston in the early phases of project planning.
