Access Committee | Fall events

The Access Committee has two exciting opportunities this fall, but time and  location varies from our usual.  Mark your calendars for these two events:

First is a seminar practice presentation for an upcoming conference: ADA & the Assets of Universal Design in Assisted Living.  This will be held at the BSA on 9/17 at 5:15 pm with the Design for Aging Committee.  This seminar will identify where using universal design – and not the ADA – provides better accessibility and adaptability for people who live in assisted living.

Second is a personalized tour of the winner of the 2013 Accessible Design Awards – the Grousbeck Center at Perkins School in Watertown, designed by the Gund Partnership.  This will be held at Perkins on 10/23 (early evening time to be confirmed).

The Access Committee does not meet in November because of ABX or December because of the holidays.  I welcome your thoughts about topics for 2014.

Details of the September and October meetings will follow separately.  CEUs will be available for both.
