An Introduction to the 9th Edition of 780 CMR, the Massachusetts State Building Code
​Guest Speaker: A. Vernon Woodworth, FAIA, AKF Codes Consulting Group
The long awaited release of the 9th Edition of the Mass State Building Code is scheduled for Public Hearings in May, and tentatively scheduled for official implementation on July 1st, 2017 with a concurrency period ending on January 1, 2018.
In this third meeting in our annual cycle of code presentations, Vernon Woodworth will highlight some of the significant changes to the format and content of the 9th Edition. Vernon will discuss modifications related to Use and Occupancy and Special Use and Occupancy.
Vernon will also review fire protection and egress provisions with emphasis on new requirements. He will then identify changes to existing building requirements.
As a complement to the presentation Vernon will provide a PDF to all attendees who request it.
The BSA has arranged for 1.5 CEUs with the AIA.
