A Conversation with Abby Harris from Y2Y Youth Shelter (2015/11/10)

On Novembet 10th at 6pm Abby Harris from Y2Y Youth Shelter will be attending the committee meeting to share more about Y2Y's work. During the next few months the committee will invite representatives from various local organizations, involved with homelessness, to share more about their work. Abby is the first of these speakers and we look forward to learning about their work and the ways we can get involved.

Y2Y Harvard Square is the nation’s first student run homeless shelter for young-adults, opening in the next 1-2 months. Despite hundreds of young adults who experience homelessness, there are only twelve beds specifically dedicated to their needs in the Greater Boston area. Y2Y Harvard Square will more than double the number of available beds and provide sanctuary, facilitate pathways out of homelessness, and provide opportunities for advocacy and leadership development.

Please join us on November 10th at 6pm at the BSA. If you are interested in becoming involved with future activities of the Committee, please feel free to attend the planning meeting following the conversation with Abby.
