Interventional Facility Design

Interventional facilities are one of the core elements of our healthcare environments. What are the forces that have shaped the design of our current interventional facilities and what trends will be shaping them in the future? Utilizing insights gained as a healthcare principal with HDR, named the No. 1 Healthcare Design firm by Modern Healthcare for nine consecutive years, designing more than 28.4 million square feet of healthcare space with $6.7 billion in completed construction projects in 2011, Michael Roughan, AIA, LEED AP, EDAC will lead a wide-ranging presentation on interventional facilities and how advances in technology and medicine are changing how these facilities will be designed.

Mike will be joined by Brendan Whalen, LEED AP who has been a project manager at Partners Healthcare Systems, Brigham and Women's Real Estate and Facilities Department since 2005.  Brendan specializes in the planning, design and construction of Radiology and Radiation Oncology ambulatory, in-patient treatment, interventional and research spaces both on and off the main hospital campus.
