It's official! The Committee On Resilient Environments has launched!

Core hosted its kickoff meeting on Thursday July 23, 2015 with great success and an engaging crowd. Thank you to all who were able to make it out, we hope to see you again soon.

With the intention to build a strong and inclusive network, the meeting began with a group introduction of the attendees, all with varying backgrounds. Architects, engineers, students, designers, and consultants represented organizations including Boston Global Investors, Perkins+Will, MIT, The City of Boston, and DCAMM, among others. The committee brainstormed possible topics and goals through an open discusion, working to define how the group can be most effective. Some questions included:

  • "How can our conversations here at CORE inform community action?"
  • "How can we embed art in multi-use water management?"
  • "How do we best leverage everyone's expertise and skills to make the most impact?"
  • "Who is most effected/vulnerable? Who is most empowered to make change?"
  • "Who are the key stakeholders that will drive such change?"

We are looking forward to building apon the success of this meeting and the opportunity to learn more from our members. Stay tuned for more updates and future events.

Let's build a collaborative culture around urban resiliency!

Yours truly,

-Tyler Shannon
