The Mentorship Sub-Committee is focused on creating programming to support women within the mid-point of their professional careers, supplementing the mentorship programming of our allied BSA Committees. For early career support, we encourage you to check out the Emerging Professionals Network and for senior leadership support, please check out the Women Principals Group.

Mid-Career Mentorship Program:
Women in Design, in collaboration with the Women’s Principal’s Group, is facilitating a nine month long Mid-Career Mentorship Program for designers and architects in the Boston area. This is a great opportunity to connect and learn from women with different experiences and backgrounds.

This mentorship program focuses on connecting women to a larger network, getting meaningful time with a mentor to get individualized attention, learning through a role model, and accessing new career perspectives. Mentoring helps mid-career women successfully navigate career decisions and find balance to create fulfilling and lasting career paths. This program provides a platform for mid-career women to advance and gain support from leaders in the design field.

Emerging Leaders:
Emerging Leaders is a collective of mid-career women that meets several times each year to connect and explore a selected topic which is generated from interests within the group itself.  We encourage inclusion from all areas of the profession and our members range from Architects, Interior Designers, Lighting Designers, Engineers, Marketing & Construction professionals.  The many voices bring a lively discussion to the table and wealth of knowledge as well as networking opportunities.

As part of the first year under WiD, we will establish several separate groups of mid-career women, with varying time preferences, which meet as a dedicated group for the entire year.    Maintaining a small and consistent group of attendees proved effective to establishing a trusted community of peer support during the pilot test year.   If you are interested in being a part of one of these groups for the 2018-2019 year, please apply here.
