The last decade of innovation and code adoption of new wood based construction technologies north of our border has valuable lessons for our specifying community. Performance based codes, testing, and special exemption pi have offered valuable examples of delivered projects which can correct some common misconceptions about wood in construction of larger buildings, and give us a blueprint to plan wider use of regionally sourced timber in our own work here in the northeast. Boston has an especially direct link to the leading practice community in wood based structural solutions and this seminar is designed to promote a deeper understanding of how to implement more sustainable material use, carbon sequestration, and integrated structural systems with design, delivery, and code options for our own market over the next three years.
