Applying Lean Thinking in a Knowledge Based Design Practice

The implementation of Lean and continuous improvement has benefits across an organization, including enhancing a design firm's ability to foster design and creativity. Mark Jussaume Assoc. AIA is Chief Executive Officer of TRO, a 125 person integrated healthcare design firm in the third year of its Lean journey. Inspired by their healthcare clients’ commitment to improve staff and patient care outcomes through the use of Lean programming and planning, TRO set out to improve the way they work through the simultaneous implementation of firm-wide Lean training and the development of "an outward mindset" program that encourages staff work from an outward mindset of responsibility, accountability and influence.

Mark will share his insights into how a successful integration of Lean in an organization can be improved by creating an environment that encourages staff to support each other and embrace work through the implementation of Lean practices.

For those who qualify, 1.5 LUs are available.
