Boston officially launched its Additional Dwelling Unit Program in 2019, allowing owners of single to three-family homes to carve out a separate living unit under the same roof. ADU's increase affordable housing options, support multi-generational family arrangements, prevent displacement, and utilize the existing infrastructure to achieve the City’s housing goals.

YouthBuild Boston, a non-profit that trains low-income 16 to 24 year olds in construction and related industries, is working closely with the Department of Neighborhood Development to execute ADUs throughout Boston.

We are excited to have Michael Chavez, Project Development Manager at YouthBuild Boston, join us to introduce the ADU program and discuss its positive impacts on underserved communities in the City.

Join us to learn more about the Additional Dwelling Unit Program and the opportunities it provides.
