Looking for an easy way to learn SketchUp? Come visit us (virtually!) during an online session of the next BSA SketchUp Bootcamp and learn from an expert. All user levels are welcome, from new users to pros!

As the landscape is changing all around us, this month we’ll be focusing on ways you can add ground elements to your SketchUp models. I’ll start by showing some easy ways to use the Terrain creation tools to create a site, both from scratch and by importing survey contours. Then we’ll dig into SketchUp’s Sandbox tools and edit the site using Smoove, Stamp and Drape, and I’ll show you some tips for adding curbs and retaining walls.

Did you know you can import your SketchUp model into Google Earth? I’ll teach you how to use SketchUp’s Geo-Locate feature to add satellite imagery to your models, and prepare them so they can be imported and viewed with other 3D imagery in Google Earth. Plus I’ll demonstrate how to use SketchUp’s Shadow tool to make accurate shadow studies.

As always I’ll show you how to start with SketchUp’s basic toolset and work your way up to more complex geometry. Bring your questions and I’ll help you streamline your process so you can master SketchUp!
