PresentationAdaptive Re-Use of Heavy Timber Buildings
Guest Speaker: Doug Anderson, Manager of Code Advisory Group, C3 Consulting

For this second session of the 2018 Codes Committee’s annual cycle of code presentations, Doug Anderson of C3 – Commercial Construction Consulting will focus on code requirements for renovating existing heavy timber buildings.
Doug will discuss a number of topics related to existing Heavy Timber Buildings, including how to identify them; how to determine the most ideal construction type based on proposed change of use; and addressing construction issues encountered when retrofitting new building systems. He will use a case study of a renovated high rise heavy timber building to explain the current code complications with existing building requirements.

As a complement to the presentation our speaker will provide a PDF to all attendees who request it.
