Georgia Institute of Technology

Our students prototype, invent, and experiment like no other design students in the country, because technology and research are the foundation of our creative work. We think it’s important to understand how technology enables better design, and how to fuse that technology into buildings, products, lifestyles, cities, regions, and even healthcare. Our students spend as much time in studios or classrooms as they do in the Institute’s top-tier research facilities. This is design — the Georgia Tech way.

While many of our graduates build careers as architects, industrial designers, construction managers, and music technologists, our students are well-equipped to enter several other professions. This is because we use design thinking as a method for innovation. We use the design process to develop new technologies, anticipate the future of buildings and environments, and change the way people experience art, everyday objects, and their immediate surroundings. It’s also because we encourage our students to collaborate with their campus peers in engineering, science, computing, business, and the liberal arts.
