Founded by Elizabeth Whittaker, the firm’s work uncovers and capitalizes on opportunities for invention in the ordinary, and in so doing, develops new methods of production that combine digital fabrication and the handmade throughout the United States and abroad. MERGE Architects works closely with our clients as well as teams of fabricators, artists, craftspeople and engineers to produce an architecture that embraces the art of making within a larger agenda: to redefine social boundaries within built environments.

Our office provides a highly collaborative setting, with a shared commitment to design excellence, craft, buildability and client service. Applicants will be expected to work both independently and collaboratively, be self-motivated, and be design-focused problem-solvers. You will work on multiple projects and all aspects of a small and growing architecture practice.

About This Position

We are seeking a team member to coordinate our Brand and Marketing efforts.

Social Media & Website Content Management

  • Manage, update, and maintain website – currently need to update and change platforms
  • Formalize and upgrade social media presence
  • Help create / curate social content, including text, image, and video
  • Own and build out social media content publishing calendar
  • Manage the editing, approval, and scheduling of all posts for all social media platforms
  • Coordinate blog production / publication and newsletter schedule

Marketing Materials & Management

  • Maintain and manage marketing collateral (InDesign)
  • Support the Senior Associates / Associates in preparation of RFQs / RFPs and award entries
  • Coordinate media relations directly including developing project press kits and responding to media inquiries
  • Manage firm’s charitable giving / sponsorships calendar and scheduling
  • Track and support upcoming firm events / activities / appearances / award submissions
  • Organize and maintain digital assets


  • Proficiency with social media platforms
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience in website management
  • Strong verbal and written communication, with an eye for accuracy and consistency
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Interest in issues of housing, community, social justice, and design
  • B.A. degree in Design, Communications, Marketing, English, or a broadly related field
  • Relevant professional marketing experience (preferred)
  • Experience in the A/E/C industry (preferred)
  • Basic photography / videography ability and / or interest (not required)
