About This Position

We are looking for a Controller (part-time) to oversee the finance operations of the firm. We are looking for a leader who possesses the knowledge, experience, and communication skills necessary to work successfully with a wide range of people. The ideal candidate is diligent and efficient with self-assurance and the ability to complete work without supervision. This position interfaces directly with the owners of the firm, project managers, outside CPA firm and financial institutions.

Please note that this is a part-time position.

  • BS Degree in Accounting
  • 10+ years of experience in the professional services (preferably design) industry
  • Expertise with Deltek Vision, Deltek Ajera or other similar design industry accounting software
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Support Accounting Manager and Accounting Assistant with finance related matters
  • Meet with business owners weekly to review rolling forecast, accounts receivable and cash flow
  • Meet with project managers periodically to review project profitability and identify any areas requiring action
  • Ensure integrity and completeness of all project budgets in the accounting system
  • Maintain rolling forecast of revenues and expenses for the firm
  • Perform month-end closing on a GAAP accrual basis
  • Analyze and present monthly financial reports to firm ownership inclusive of industry specific key performance indicators.
  • Prepare year-end tax planning forecast on a cash basis
  • Coordinate independent review of year-end tax planning, stock valuation and year-end financial statements by outside CPA
  • Responsible for all banking relationships
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal and tax requirements
  • Maintain an awareness of any tax implications that impact our industry and advise management on needed actions
