About This Position

The Landscape Design position provides high level garden design across our portfolio of high-end residential clients.

Position Description

  • Create stunning and creative landscapes that are based on sound horticultural practices, add value to the landscape, and enrich our clients’ living environments.
  • Be a resource to Account Managers by assisting in developing and presenting a variety of different design solutions.
  • Create opportunities for new business and reinforce our company’s position with clients as a talented, service oriented partner.
  • Translate client desires, needs, and aesthetics into customized designs and solutions.
  • Produce professional design presentations, graphics, and renderings that are visually compelling.
  • Provide the best possible customer experience by making the design experience fun.
  • Design and estimate landscape projects that may include entry gardens, foundation planting, perennial beds, privacy screens, pool areas, fire pits, patios, vegetable gardens, seasonal décor, etc.
  • Present designs with confidence and contagious enthusiasm.

Team Responsibilities

  • Support operations teams with installation of gardens and projects (examples include plant tagging, layout, client communication, subcontractor coordination, etc., as needed).
  • Become proficient in Aspire, our software infrastructure for estimating, scheduling, job costing, CRM, etc.
  • Participate in teams sales meetings and general sales and marketing efforts
  • Build personal knowledge in areas needed to improve skill set – horticulture, design, estimating, hardscape & planting installation, consultative sales skills, service skills, communication, time management, etc.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • 5+ years landscape design experience working with high-end residential customers in New England.
  • Proficient with use of computers and expertise in computer-aided landscape design programs, such as VectorWorks.
  • Strong horticultural expertise with plants hardy to New England.
  • Expertise in designing hardscapes and knowledgeable on stone materials typical in New England landscapes.
  • Sales & estimating experience.
  • A college degree in Landscape Design, Landscape Architecture or related field.
  • MCLP and MCH certifications are a plus.
  • Customer-service oriented with strong communication, organization, and people skills.
  • Team player with the drive to learn and grow as well as teach others.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.


  • This position reports to the Director of Sales
  • This position resides in our Design Studio located in Wellesley, MA
  • Profit-sharing target: an additional 2 ½ weeks of compensation
  • Full-time, year-round position
  • Must be able to work some evenings and weekends to accommodate client meetings and seasonal demands
