Artist Statement
New Heights in Shanghai, 2012, Digital photograph, $400
I captured this photograph while at the observation deck of the Shanghai World Financial Center, which was the tallest skyscraper in the city at the time. In the foreground of the photograph stands the Jin Mao Tower and behind it, the Oriental Pearl Tower, rising from the clouds. Both of these towers were also once the tallest structures in Shanghai. Now, all three skyscrapers have been surpassed by the Shanghai Tower (not pictured).
