Membership of the Boston Society of Architects/AIA is tailored to offer the most valuable experience to fit you and your business. AIA and Associate AIA Members

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) is a three tier membership comprised of state, local and national portions. In the Greater Boston area the state and local membership is covered by the BSA. All memberships of the AIA consist of the three levels.
Being an AIA or Assoc AIA level member qualifies you to benefit from the wide range of services provided by our AIA national office. Access details about how your AIA national membership can offer assistance and member pricing at the Member Benefits with AIA Advantage page. You can register for online discounts via AIA Advantage Automatic Discounts. 

Registered architects will benefit from the convenience of AIA's continuing-education transcripts and credit tracking; one less thing to worry about!

BSA Firm Members

Firm membership broadens your own peer network, supports local emerging professionals and highlights the value of good design to the general public. Being
a member can strengthen your firm's involvement in shaping the future of the profession. The Firm dues support our strong legislative advocacy programs in Massachusetts and the work of our active and dedicated committees, task forces and networks. The BSA/AIA works for our members in many ways, including our robust continuing-education opportunities throughout the year.

Professional Affiliate Members

Professional affiliate membership is for individual industry-professionals and design-firm staff members other than architects who wish to participate more actively in the design community.

BSA Allied Members

BSA Allied membership (previously Corporate Affiliate) is designed to help companies promote their brand, products, and services to architects and other building-industry professionals. Examples of those eligible for Allied membership includes, consultants, builders, contractors, engineers, real estate professionals, interior designers, landscape architects, attorneys, manufacturers, distributors, service providers and anyone else who works with or hopes to work with AIA architects and other BSA members.

Establishing connections with BSA/AIA Members:

  • Register your company as an AIA Continuing Education provider as part of your membership
  • Peer access to more than 40 BSA Knowledge Communities
  • Online access to view contact information via our members-only directories on architects.org
  • Company profile published on BSA Product & Service Directory at architects.org
  • On-site recognition at BSA Space, including during the annual BSA Design Awards Gala
  • Company news published in FAME on architects.org

The BSA also offers complementary notary service to allied members. Members can also connect with the BSA community by seeking additional paid BSA advertising and sponsorships. 

BSA Allied Membership fees:

The annual fee is based on the total number of employees based in the local office applying for membership. Employees based in other US or international offices do not apply.

Per calendar year:

1–6 Employees—$625.00     

7–24 Employees—$1,255.00 
25+ Employees—$2,095.00
