David Chilinski FAIA

We are pleased to announce that David Chilinski FAIA has been elevated to the AIA’s College of Fellows. As president and co-founder of Prellwitz Chilinski Associates along with Wendy Prellwitz, AIA, David has been leading the firm for over 35 years, spearheading projects with high levels of community engagement, and shepherding them through complex approvals processes. His stewardship in community service stems from his deep commitment to inclusiveness and cooperation in building communities. Through progressive policies, mentorship, and volunteerism in civic activities, David nurtures a distinctive collaborative culture within his firm that embodies core values of caring and respect, aligned with the fulfillment of sharing creative ideas and actively pulling in the same direction.

Debi McDonald AIA

Debi McDonald AIA has joined JCJ Architecture and will take a leading role on projects and the development of the firm’s Boston office. Having focused her career on planning and design for Higher Education, Debi brings her unique perspective to the JCJ team.  She is a longtime contributor to the national and regional discourse on design for education and advocates a humanistic approach that combines facilitated dialogue and strategic exploration with an understanding of context and purpose. In addition to her collaboration with clients, institutions and project teams, she contributes her time to professional organizations, mentorship, and discussion of issues at the forefront of design. Debi is a former BSA Board member and BSA Commissioner of Communications, current Co-Chair of the BSA/SCUP College + University Roundtable, former Chair of the SCUP North Atlantic Regional Council and a SCUP National Board member, and current member of the SCUP North Atlantic Regional Council and North Atlantic Membership Chair. She received her Bachelor and Masters of Architecture from Cornell University.

Michael Tartamella AIA

Patrick Ahearn Architect has promoted Michael Tartamella AIA to Managing Principal. This new role in the firm recognizes Michael’s significant contributions and foreshadows both his and the firm’s continued success.

Bechtel Frank Erickson Architects has expanded its leadership group to welcome new members Adina Fuller RA, Blaise LaPorta AIA, and Jesse Widtfeldt who have been promoted to Associates. Fuller has more than 20 years of experience in architecture and planning. Since joining BFE in 1998, she has amassed a broad range of design experiences including residential, educational, commercial, and laboratory projects. LaPorta has been with the firm for 6 years, focusing on the design of single-family, assisted living, and laboratory projects. As a member of the firm for 12 years, Widtfeldt has led several multifamily and senior housing developments as well as designs for commercial and single-family residences.

Cavanaugh Tocci Associates is pleased to announce the promotion of Aaron Farbo, LEED AP BD+C, to Associate Principal Consultant within the acoustics group.

DRA Architects welcomes John Tindall-Gibson who recently joined as Learning Environment Planner. Building upon DRA’s success in the education market, John will draw from his more than 30 years of experience as an educator in his new role. He will work in collaboration with the existing education team and be based in the Connecticut studio. Before joining DRA, John served as Superintendent of Schools at Naugatuck Public Schools in Connecticut. He has worked as a high school teacher, K-8 and middle school administrator, and superintendent in four school districts in Arizona, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. He has taught courses at the community college and graduate school levels and presented at national education conferences. John earned his PhD in Educational Administration from the University of Arizona.
