A licensed architect, theorist, and historian, Amanda Reeser Lawrence is an assistant professor of Design at the School of Architecture at Northeastern. Lawrence received her Ph.D. in architectural history and theory from Harvard GSD, and is a founding co-editor of the award-winning journal, PRAXIS, the only non-commercial architectural publication of contemporary American architecture.

Lawrence's book James Stirling: Revisionary Modernist examines the work of one of the most influential architects of the late 20th century. She focuses on six of Stirling's projects from the early 1950s through the late 1970s, offering detailed formal analysis of the buildings and drawings while also mapping his relationship to a broader architectural and cultural context.
