BSA Space Author Series features talented writers discussing their recent publications in the areas of architecture, design and the built environment. Hear authors read from their works, and engage in a dialogue with the author and other audience members. Copies of the publications will be available for sale and signing.

This edition of the Author Series a—named for the first chapter of Heirlooms to Live In by Mark Hutker FAIA—will explore how Hutker Architects fosters builder relationships to create projects that embody meaningful family narratives. Such homes are passed down generationally and ultimately defended by the community at large . In this context, to build once well is the ultimate sustainable proposition. Using the book and its celebrated images as a base for the conversation, Hutker will also explore his concept of “life equity” and the ethics of choosing materials, craft, and relationships over commodities.
