BSA Space Author Series features talented writers discussing their recent publications in the areas of architecture, design and the built environment. Hear authors read from their works, and engage in a dialogue with the author and other audience members. Copies of the publications will be available for sale and signing.

The Architectural Detail has been called Edward Ford’s “most important work to date.” In it, Ford addresses the definition of “detail” in architecture, and critics have identified it as essential reading for students, practitioners and anyone interested in philosophies of architectural assembly. Designers & Books named The Architectural Detail as one of the notable books of 2011.

Edward Ford is the Shea Professor of Architecture at the University of Virginia.

Advance registration is required for both members and nonmembers. Members attend free of charge.
