Construction Administration Roundtable

Boston’s New Rooms for Music

This fall, New England Conservatory’s students and faculty began to perform, rehearse, and celebrate
their music in a new setting — the first building added to NEC’s historic Boston campus in 60 years.

The new Student Life and Performance Center (SLPC), a 10-story structure designed by Ann Beha Architects in collaboration with Gensler, sets a high bar for talented students and the NEC and Boston community. As America’s oldest conservatory of music, NEC is perhaps now the nation’s most youthful and innovative, training the musicians of the future.

Please join us as Steven Gerrard AIA LEED GA, principal of Ann Beha Architects, and Ryan Bourque, project manager of AECOM Tishman, discuss how the design team and the construction team worked together to design the building’s variegated terra cotta tile façade, resolved constructability issues and prepared methods to communicate the design to the façade fabricator.
