Family Design Day with Learning by Design

Design your dream room

Have you always dreamed of designing your own space to do everything you love to do? In February, families will think about how design – shape, color, size, materials, and character – can influence how a space is used and enjoyed. Then design your own room to suit your needs, personality and activities, with one catch, space is not unlimited. Designers will be challenged to create the perfect personal space in a defined amount of square footage – sometimes bigger is not always better! Register.

Family Design Days encourage children and adults to observe, explore and design together. In these 2 hour hands-on workshops, families are introduced to architecture and design through exhibit tours, walking tours or slide shows, and then complete a hands-on design activity. Architects and Design Educators lead the activities focused on the Built Environment of Boston and the world. Family Design Days take place one Saturday a month at BSA Space (unless otherwise noted) and are designed for children ages 5 – 13 years old, accompanied by an adult – a maximum ratio of 3 children per 1 adult will be required. Unless noted otherwise, admission is $8/person (child and adult); registration strongly recommended.
