Family Design Day with Learning by Design

Have you ever wanted to create a museum for your favorite things? Whether it's fish, fashion or fighter jets, every collection needs a unique setting. In March, families will explore the exhibit Design Biennial Boston and museums around the world to learn about the unique components of museum design. Then design and build a model of your own museum for your special collection.

Family Design Days encourage children and adults to observe, explore and design together. In these 2 hour hands-on workshops, families are introduced to architecture and design through exhibit tours, walking tours or slide shows, and then complete a hands-on design activity. Architects and Design Educators lead the activities focused on the Built Environment of Boston and the world. Family Design Days take place one Saturday a month at BSA Space (unless otherwise noted) and are designed for children ages 5 – 13 years old, accompanied by an adult – a maximum ratio of 3 children per 1 adult will be required. Unless noted otherwise, admission is $8/person (child and adult); registration strongly recommended.
