Family Design Day with Learning by Design

In celebration of Mayor Menino's Fit City Boston initiative, we'll learn about places and spaces that are conducive to creative play and physical activity. Then design and build a model of your own ideas for a play space that will keep you moving.

Family Design Days encourage children and adults to observe, explore and design together. In these 2 hour hands-on workshops, families are introduced to architecture and design through exhibit tours, walking tours or slide shows, and then complete a hands-on design activity. Architects and Design Educators lead the activities focused on the Built Environment of Boston and the world. Family Design Days take place one Saturday a month at BSA Space (unless otherwise noted) and are designed for children ages 5 – 13 years old, accompanied by an adult – a maximum ratio of 3 children per 1 adult will be required. Unless noted otherwise, admission is $8/person (child and adult); registration strongly recommended.
