Family Design Day with Learning by Design

Teams of Boston-area architects and engineers have executed their favorite movie themes using canned goods! We will tour the colossal structures of Canstruction and then design a set based on your favorite movie using recycled materials. Bring nonperishable food items to donate to the Merrimack Valley Food Bank. Register.

Family Design Days, hosted by Learning By Design in Massachusetts, encourage children and adults to observe, explore and design together. In these 2 hour hands-on workshops, families are introduced to architecture and design through exhibit tours, walking tours or slide shows, and then complete a hands-on design activity. Architects and Design Educators lead the activities focused on the Built Environment of Boston and the world. Family Design Days take place one Saturday a month at BSA Space (unless otherwise noted) and are designed for children ages 5 – 13 years old, accompanied by an adult – a maximum ratio of 3 children per 1 adult will be required. Unless noted otherwise, admission is $8/person (child and adult); registration strongly recommended.
