Family Design Day with Learning by Design: Gingerbread

Learning By Design in Massachusetts and the Community Design Resouce Center of Boston are teaming up to offer Gingerbread House Design at BSA Space. We will first tour the Gingerbread Houses designed by area design firms at CDRC's Gingerbread Competition and then create our own houses using edible materials.

Family Design Days, hosted by Learning By Design in Massachusetts, encourage children and adults to observe, explore, and design together. In these 2 hour hands-on workshops, families are introduced to architecture and design through exhibit tours, walking tours or slide shows, and then complete a hands-on design activity. Architects and Design Educators lead the activities focused on the Built Environment of Boston and the world. Family Design Days take place one Saturday a month at BSA Space (unless otherwise noted) and are designed for children ages 5 – 13 years old, accompanied by an adult – a maximum ratio of 3 children per 1 adult will be required. Admission is $10/person (child and adult); registration strongly recommended. Ticket sales benefit both non profit organizations.
