*full* Lecture: The Psychology of Space and the Moving Body

Craig E. Dykers AIA, founding partner of acclaimed design firm Snøhetta, provides a rare insider’s look at the motivations and inspirations that drive his design team. Particularly keen to take on the complex tasks of designing high-use public spaces, Dykers draws deftly from a world of knowledge inside and outside formal design circles—for instance, bridging theories of livestock management with Snøhetta’s current project to redesign New York City’s Times Square into something more pedestrian friendly. Dykers offer a fascinating and entertaining look at how architects come to understand the psychology of space.

This event is held in conjunction with the Association of Architecture Organizations 2013 conference. A welcome reception starts at 5:15 pm, and the lecture will be at 6:00 pm.
