DIY TOD - Utilizing Development to Catalyze Transit

People and companies across America are increasingly returning to downtown cores. In order to accommodate this expanding urban population’s desire for dense,
walkable neighborhoods, developers and municipalities have focused on creating Transit-Oriented Developments (TOD), concentrating development around existing transit nodes.

However, large post-industrial sites that are prime candidates for redevelopment don’t necessarily have adjacent transit stations, despite frequently being located along train lines. In these instances, forward-thinking developers have entered into public-private partnerships (P3’s) with transit agencies to create new stations concurrently with their developments.

Please join the BSA Infra\tecture Committee on Thursday, January 25th @ 6PM in the BSA SPACE for a thought-provoking panel discussion exploring how New Balance partnered with MassDOT to create the Boston Landing Station as part of its ambitious expanded world headquarters and health and wellness district.
