Lecture: "Landscape of Contrast," presented by the Urban Design Committee

As cities face a crisis of job retention, fading infrastructure and vacant industrial land, a new approach toward the treatment of industrial sites that integrates the built and natural environment is arising. This lecture examines plans currently under way in Philadelphia along the lower Schuylkill River—a river lined by arboretums and oil refineries—to transform the fractured relationship between livable environments and industrial development.

In this Urban Design Committee meeting/public lecture, Drew Kane (Chan Krieger NBBJ) discusses the integration of environmental design and industrial development in Philadelphia.
