Reimagining Boston—Exhibition Tour and Workshop

What if streetlight poles were also umbrellas that opened up when it rains to provide cover for people who were caught in a storm? What if highway billboards became bamboo gardens to clean the air? What if telephone booths became electric-car-charging stations?

Join renowned urban design director Scott Burnham for an insider’s tour of Reprogramming the City exhibition, showing how cities around the world are finding new uses for their existing physical objects, and be part of a playful brainstorming session exploring how Boston could use its existing objects and areas differently.

The event will start with a tour around Reprogramming the City, followed by Scott Burnham leading participants in a session in which everyone gets to draw on the windows of BSA Space gallery, sketching their ideas for the city on top of the streetscapes that surround the gallery.

This event, suitable for all ages, is part of Summer on the Waterfront’s HarborWalk festival and is free and open to the public.
