This is John Nunnari's brief report on codes and regulatory activities including the status of pending legislation and Building Code / regulatory changes of interest to Owners, Developers, Architects, and Engineers. Topics include the status of Codes by Boards that oversee areas of building construction and coordination of codes (BCCC) – including status of Access, Plumbing and Fire Codes.

For this 2nd session of the 2020 Codes Committee’s annual cycle of code presentations, we are pleased to welcome back Chris Allington and Nate Bennett – Hilti Fire Protection Specialists.

Chris and Nate will review the IBC Code changes related to firestopping and joint systems required to maintain fire compartmentation.

This presentation will cover code requirements and changes for perimeter fire containment, rated and non-rated roofs and floors, membrane penetrations, T requirements, special inspections, required maintenance, etc. The speakers will discuss code exceptions and include numerous pictures and diagrams to illustrate these requirements.

As a complement to the presentation our speaker will provide a PDF to all attendees who request it.
