This presentation will take a close look at the impact of global warming, climate change, land use, and the effects on the the natural and built environment. It will include the recent data and future projections of this impact, as well as ways in which the building profession might address the issues and minimize the impact sustainably in order to provide a safer built environment for its occupants and users.

It will introduce LEED sustainable design principles and approved approaches from USGBC used in developing sites and buildings. Various case studies of different projects will also be included in this presentation as it is important to recognize how these issues are been handled and conditions improved.

We will also looking into streets and neighborhoods from the human scale, to evaluate and see how they could be developed to be more inclusive, to calm the traffic and provide a safe space for pedestrians/users, providing access for leisure activities such as walking, jogging, biking, along the street and side walk.
