Join us for WiD Wednesday with a tour of Southern Proper. Jessica Haley, lead Interior Designer from RODE Architects, will explain how they accurately captured the spirit of Chef/Owner Jason Cheek’s memories of growing up on a tobacco farm in North Carolina. Inspiration was taken from both the unique construction of tobacco barns as well as the nostalgia of the farmhouse interior. Learn more about how the central oval shaped bar is constructed with a collage of antique dining tabletops and faced with tin ceiling panels salvaged from a theatre in Albany NY. Also see how an array of salvaged table lamps flipped upside down anchor the center of the space and add quirk and warmth to the surrounding pine structure.

Since joining in 2013, Jessica Haley has enabled RODE to integrate a more complete, full-service approach to the practice as a project manager and lead interior designer. With almost a decade of experience in the field, she has had the opportunity to contribute to a range of project types including hospitality, multi-family, corporate, complex institutional and academic research. Jessica brings a unique approach to RODE’s interiors projects by mixing the tried and true with originality and innovation.
