AIA Massachusetts Government Affairs Committee

This month, our special guest speaker is Commissioner Patrick Woodcock, the leader of the Commonwealths Department of Energy Resources (DOER). It is the role of DOER to help create a clean, affordable, equitable and resilient energy future for the Commonwealth. Specifically, we will discuss with the Commissioner DOER’s role in implementing the recently enacted climate roadmap bill (SB 9); his thoughts on the intersection between the requirements of SB 9 and the vertically built environment (both new and existing, residential and commercial); and his thoughts as to how our members can better become a resource to both him and DOER.

As the sole committee of the Massachusetts chapter of AIA, the GAC’s mission is to actively participate in the legislative and regulatory process and encourage public advocacy.
