Join the BSA-Residential Design Committee & the Builders and Remodelers Association of Greater Boston (BRAGB) on Thursday, April 6th at 12 Noon for a webinar roundtable to discuss the recent MA energy code updates that took effect January 1, 2023. The panelists will discuss the updates as they relate to 1-2 family new construction and additions-renovations to existing residential structures. Our panelists are experts from across the industry who will distill the essential residential code revisions into understandable nuggets of information. Our guest panelists will offer their perspectives about the impact the codes revisions will have on different facets of the AEC industry across the Commonwealth. PANELISTS

Guy Webb is a building industry professional with nearly 40 years of experience in a variety of capacities. Guy has served as Executive Director for the Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Central MA (HBRACM) for 28 years. In this capacity, Guy represents the HBRAMA to the MA Board of Building Regulations & Standards (BBRS) in all matters related to building and energy codes. Guy is also a certified rater of the Home Energy Rater System (HERS) and works with individual clients in representing their interests when conflicts and challenges arise involving building design or compliance with the codes.

Mark Doughty is the President of Thoughtforms, a leading custom home builder, with a particular emphasis on sustainability and high-performance building. The 55-person team recently celebrated 50 years in business and has built several homes with single-digit and negative HERS ratings. Mark began college at West Point before an injury saw him transfer to UMass Amherst where he completed his BSc in Civil Engineering. He received his MBA from MIT’s Sloan School of Management and along with his role at Thoughtforms, has actively been involved with the MIT Sustainability Initiative.

J.B. Clancy is an architect and a partner with Albert, Righter & Tittmann Architects in Boston. ART Architects practices the art and science of architecture throughout the northeast designing houses in New England traditions with a focus on place and sustainability. J.B. designed Vermont’s first Certified Passive House. J.B. is a graduate of Brown University and Yale School of Architecture. When not designing buildings, J.B. like to travel and sketch. J.B. is also a certified USSA ski coach and PSIA ski instructor and an avid backcountry skier.
