Large Scale Passive House: Applying Lessons Learned

This session will explore the design and completion of The House at Cornell Tech, the world's tallest certified Passive House building, and how lessons learned are being applied to both a mixed-use, 100% affordable project in New York City, as well as to a large scale office building in Boston. Following a brief introduction to PH principles, the design team will explore some of the obstacles that were overcome to implement PH at such an unprecedented scale. They will compare and contrast the 352-unit market-rate tower, completed and certified, with the 655-unit Sendero Verde project, and the 750,000 SF class A office building at Winthrop Center, both under construction.
